Unique and Complex FlavorsAward-Winning CheesesOur raw milk cheeses are made and aged on our farm in Vermont. We turn our own fresh milk—still warm from the cows—into handcrafted wheels during morning milking. Boucher Blue won an award from the American Cheese Society in 2024!
Rooted in Vermont’s agricultural heritage and shaped by a passion for artisan craftsmanship, our blues are a celebration of place, process, and flavor. We make three distinct styles of blue cheese- discover them all! |
A Small, Family Run BusinessBoucher Family FarmGreen Mountain Blue Cheese began 25 years ago when Dan and Dawn Boucher started making cheese to diversify their family’s dairy farm. Today, the Boucher Family Farm milks a mixed herd of 200 cows—including Guernsey, Jersey, Brown Swiss, and Holstein—twice a day.
For 14 generations, Boucher Family Farm has been passed down from father to son. In the 1940s, Rene Boucher moved to Vermont, and his son Gilbert—youngest of 11 children—took over the farm at just 14 years old, growing the herd from 16 to 180 cows. Today, Gilbert’s sons Denis and Dan carry on the tradition alongside the Rainville family, neighbors who joined forces with the Bouchers by combining their herds and sharing daily operations. |
The Art of CheesemakingPreserving Artisan PracticesDawn Morin-Boucher is a self-taught artisan who developed the recipes for all three of our cheeses through years of hands-on experimentation and refinement. She became a pioneering Vermont cheesemaker when she began making cheese on the farm in 1999. At that time, Green Mountain Blue Cheese was the only Vermont-made blue cheese available for wholesale. Now, with over 25 years of experience, she’s passing her knowledge on to the next generation by training her niece, Kayleigh, in the craft.
